Chanitz Blog Is TWO YEAR OLD!
It was a surprise to many, when after the worship session, we turned out the lights and we turned on the Congratulations song, and that's when Hagop suddenly entered with the cake with 2 candles on, symbolizing the two years that the blog and the team has been through.
"I never imagined that we would reach this far. Many obstacles stood in front of us, no matter how hard we prayed. We had nothing to rely on, but we kept our hope.
We started using a small system and the system grew out to exceed its initial purpose, reaching out to many."
"The road was hard and it is not easy, it's a very tough process, where sacrifice, commitment and perseverance are realized and practiced daily."

Church, youth and our blog
For this reason and more, we have already started making use of the latest technologies that the world of Web provides us. The website/blog of the Armenian Evangelical Emmanuel Church Youth was born and it has helped us in building bridges with many different churches in Lebanon and outside Lebanon. I remember Mike from USA who contacted us, Pastor Sevag and Pastor Datev from Syria, Searan Salibian from USA, and many others from Bulgaria, Cyprus, Iraq, Iran, Canada, France, Sweden, Armenia, Brazil, Australia and people from outisde the Armenian Evangelical circles, whom we guided to our union (UAECNE), whenever they asked about matters that were outside our sphere of knowledge.
"When the press was found, the church was one of the first users and supporters. Today, there's another kind of press, which is the web. Is the Church today an advocate of the web?"
Only recently are we seeing individuals from churches who are picking up and using the tools found on the web, like YouTube and blogging tools to share about their church with the rest of the world outside.

Chanitz Annual Luncheon in Marash Church
The CE Executive Body, this year also, planned their annual luncheon, which took place on Saturday, 2 March 2008 at night, in the Hassessian hall of Armenian Evangelical Nor Marash Church. The participation and active involvement of the youth was exemplary. Each chanitz brought together their talents and each team carried the tasks appointed to them.
After starting with the Chanitz Anthem, Rev. R. Meserlian, the chairman of the CE Executive Body (Lebanon) welcomed everyone present, then, dinner was served...
Around 150 people were gathered in the hall.
Rev. Dr. P. Haidostian, the chairman of the UAECNE Central Committee, talked about peace.
Ms. M. Khoshafian (piano).
Ms. S. Demirjian (spiritual songs).
Ms. M. Baghdoyan, Ms. G. Haidostian and Ms. M. Papazian (violin and piano).
Ms. Sh. Chaparian from Shamlian Tatigian Sipan Armenian Dance Group (Armenian nazbar).
Mr. R. Chilingirian (presentation about Chanitz life).
Ms. Sh. Hovsepian from Central High School (poem).
Anjar Chanitz (drama)
During the programme, Mr. S. Ohanian and Mr. V. Khederian were appreciated for completing their serving years in the CE Executive Body.
The gathered and collected funds will be used for the Summer Camps.
Despite the alarming situation in Lebanon, we thank God that we were able to organize such an event.

The Blessings of Spring

If God cares so wonderfully for flowers... won't He more surely care for you?
Matthew 6:30 TLB
Singing birds tell us of His tender care...
Look at the birds... Your heavenly Father feeds them. And you are far more valuable to Him than they are.
Matthew 6:26 TLB
Soft rains remind us of His refreshing grace...
I will send down showers in season; there will be showers of blessing.
Ezekiel 34:26 NIV
Sunny days reflect the light He brings...
I am the light of the world. Whoever follows Me will... have the light of life.
John 8:12 NIV
All of spring proclaims the hope God gives our hearts!
See! The winter is past; the rains are over and gone. Flowers appear on the earth; the season of singing has come.
Song of Solomon 2:11-12 NIV

A Thanksgiving Chapel Service in Tribute to the AMAA's 90th Anniversary
Beirut, 05/03/2008- On the occasion of the 90th Anniversary of the Armenian Missionary Association of America (AMAA), Haigazian University organized a special Chapel Service, paying tribute to its co-founder and long time financial supporter. A number of students and University Registrar Roubina Artinian participated in the leadership of the service.
University President, Rev. Dr. Paul Haidostian, introduced the audience with the AMAA''s vast array of ministries in 22 countries, and its leading role in supporting the Armenian community worldwide, schools, churches, and communities.
Initially, the AMAA was founded in 1918, as a reaction to the Armenian Genocide, to support a whole nation to reclaim its life.
Today, after 90 years of its foundation, the AMAA''s span of help outreaches needy Armenians in the homeland and the Diaspora, even serving non-Armenian victims of disasters.
Haidostian shared with the audience two humble lessons from his personal experience with the AMAA:
First, is the discrete method by which funds are provided to the needy.
Second, is the significant number of donors and supporters, thousands of them, who annually contribute only small amounts that are available to them. This proves that the human and spiritual capital is the cornerstone on which the AMAA's mission is built.
In conclusion, Haidostian considered the AMAA as a blessing to people in many corners of the world, including Haigazian University in Beirut, thanking God for people whose vision is for the benefit of others.
