Յարուցեալ Քրիստոս՝ Իր աշակերտներուն.- «Բայց երբ Սուրբ Հոգին իջնէ ձեր վրայ զօրութիւնով պիտի լեցուիք, եւ իմ վկաներս պիտի ըլլաք ...մինչեւ աշխարհի ծայրամասերը»: Գործք. 1.8

Ես չեմ ճանչցած հայրս, քանի որ ան իր երկնային հանգիստը մտած էր երբ ես մէկ տարեկան երախայ էի: Սակայն իր դիմագիծը տակա՛ւ կը յստականար աչքիս առջեւ երբ ատեն ատեն աչքերս յառած կը դիտէի մեր տան պատէն կախուած իր մէկ լուսանկարը: Յատուկ ուշադրութիւնս կը գրաւէին իր ակնոցին զոյգ ու հաստկեկ ապակիները, ինչպէս նաեւ բաց Սուրբ Գիրք մը ձեռքին, ու մէկ ցուցամատը հանգչած՝ համարի մը վրայ: Անշուշտ չէի կրնար ըմբռնել որ հայրս Պատուելի-աւետարանիչ մը եղած էր Սուրիոյ Իսքէնտերուն նահանգին Գրըքխան գիւղաքաղաքին եկեղեցիին մէջ: Իմ հաճելի զբաղմունքներէս մէկն էր խնամքով պահուած ակնոցը դուրս հանել պահարանէն, աչքիս վրայ զետեղելով զայն, ու ապա Սուրբ Գիրք մը բռնելով ձեռքիս մէջ՝ ջանալ ամէն կերպով իրեն նմանիլ: Մայրս կը պնդէր որ ես հօրս նման գեղադէմ չեմ եղած, ինչ որ շատ հոգ չէի ըներ: Փափաքս էր իրեն նմանիլ ամէն կերպով...:

Մեր աւետարանականութիւնը սկսաւ բաց Սուրբ Գիրքով: 1840-ական թուականներուն, վիճաբանական խիստ հետաքրքրաշարժ ասուլիս մը տեղի կ՛ունենայ Աւետարանական Շարժումի հիմնադիր, ու առաջին Հոգեւոր Հովիւին՝ Աբիսողոմ Իւթիւճեանի եւ Յովհաննէս Տէրոյենց Չամուրճեանի միջեւ: Աստուածաշունչը անբաժան ընկերն էր Իւթիւճեանի, հետեւաբար ան լաւ սերտած էր զայն: Իսկ Տերոյենց ճանչցուած էր իբրեւ հմուտ, բազմաթիւ գիրքերու հեղինակ, ու շատ պահպանողական Հայ Արաքելական մը: Ժողովին սկիզբը Իւթիւճեան պայման կը դնէ որ միա՛յն Աստուածաշունչը պիտի ընդունուէր իբրեւ ճշմարտութեան ապացոյց եւ փաստ: Չամպուրճեանի ամէն մէկ դիտողութեան՝ Իւթիւճեան կը բանար Աստուածաշունչը, ու կը հերքեր իր ընդդիմախօսին տեսակէտը: Այս կերպով, «միա՛յն Աստուածաշունչով» լօզունգը դարձաւ իբրեւ հաւատամքը Հայ Աւետարանական Եկեղեցիին:

Հայ Աւետարանականներու ինքնութեան եւ դիմագիծին երկրորդ յատկանիշն էր այդ շրջանին՝ անոնց մաքրակրօն բարեպաշտութիւնը: Սխալ կամ շիտակ, անոնք ո՛չ ոգելից ըմպելի կը գործածէին, ո՛չ կը ծխէին, ո՛չ ալ – կիներու պարագային – շպար կը գործածէին: Այս տողերը գրողը իր երիտասարդութեան շրջանին բազմաթիւ առիթներով հեգնանքի առարկայ դարձած է ոչ-աւետարանական երիտասարդներու կողմէ, թէ՝ «բողոքական է, չի խմեր, չի ծխեր...» եւլն.: (Այժմ, ամենէն պահպանողական Աւետարանականն իսկ դժոխք չի ղրկեր մէկը որ այդ «անմեղ հաճոյք»ները կը վայելէ...): Ու տակաւին, մեզի՝ երախաներուս՝ արգիլուած էր Կիրակի օրեր դրամ ծախսել: Վա՜յ այն մանուկին կամ պատանիին որ Կիրակօրեայ դպրոցի համար իրեն տրուած դրամով պաղպաղակ կամ շաքար գնէր...: Ուրիշ հարց էր «բողոքական»ներուն գործածած հայերէն լեզուն: Արդարեւ մեր խօսած հայերէնը կը վխտար «քանզի»ներով, եւ «վասնզի»ներով: Այո՛, մենք կրնանք հպարտ ըլլալ որ աշխարաբար հայերէնով առաջին ու ամբողջական Սուրբ Գիրքը՝ 1850-ական թուականներուն՝ հայ աւետարանական թարգմանութիւնն ու հպարտութիւնն էր: Ու մեր հայրերը այնքա՜ն շատ կը կարդային Սուրբ Գիրքը, որ անոր լեզուն՝ անվրէպ՝ իրենց առօրեայ խօսակցութեան փոխադրուած էր: Պէտք է ըսել որ Սուրբ Գիրքի այդ աշխարաբար հայերէն հրատարակութիւնը միջոց դարձաւ արեւմտահայ աշխարաբար լեզուի ու գրականութեան զարգացման: Սուրբ Գիրքի ընթերցումին կ՛ընկերակցէր հաւաքական կամ անհատական աղօթքը: Ա՛յս էր մեր ընտանիքին Կիրակի առտուան բարեպաշտ սովորութիւնը: Սուրբ Գիրքի ընթերցումէն ետք, մայրս եւ հինգ որբուկներ՝ կը կատարէինք մեր անհատական, ու բարձրաձայն աղօթքները, հոգ չէ թէ մեր թոթով ու կիս-կատար լեզուով արտասանէինք զանոնք...:

Աւետարանչութիւնը երրորդ մեր յատկանիշն էր հին սերունդի հայ աւետարանականներուն: Առանձին պատմութիւն կը կազմէ հայ աւետարանական առաջին սերունդին կատարած աւետարանչական արշաւները Միջին Արեւելքի ու Հայաստանի մէջ: Այս մասին ունիմ ընդարձակ ուսումնասիրութիւններ: Քիւրտիստանի հայերու մէջ հայ աւետարանականներու կատարած աւետարանչութիւնը նիւթ դարձաւ՝ նաեւ պաշտպան գտաւ՝ ԺԹ. դարու հայ մեծագոյն վիպասան Րաֆֆիին մօտ: Ան սաստեց աւետարանականները քննադատող չար լեզուները. «...Այժմ Դերսիմի մէջ բողոքականները մտնելով, սկսած են քրդացած հայերին Մեսրոպի տառերով Աւետարան կարդացնել. սկսել են մոռացված մայրենի լեզուն սովորացնել նրանց: Ի՞նչ ասենք այդ քարոզիչներին. ասե՞նք, թէ դուք գնացեք հեթանոսներին քարոզեցէք. դուք հայերի հետ գործ չունեք»: (Երկերի Ժողովածու, Հատ. ԺԱ. էջ 324 Երեւան): Հայ Աւետարանական աւետարանիչները իրենց գործունէութեամբ ո՛չ միայն Աւետարանի փրկութեան պատգամը հաղորդեցին հեռու թէ մօտ գտնուող մեր ազգակիցներուն, հապա իրենց աշխարաբար մաքուր հայերէնով սատարեցին հայ ազգապահպանումին:

Mr. Krikor Ozanian: "Dear Raffi,
Though I am writing in English with Latin letters, I would like to thank you for your article that has by now spread round the World.

We share your passion about using Mashtoz’ letters for communications in Armenian. Indeed, in 1991 the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation in Portugal funded a private project to design several Armenian fonts, both for screen and printers, that were suitable for the then first graphic word processor – the ChiWriter. Needless to say that was the time before Windows 3.1. This Armenian Fonts Suite, created by Krikor and Takouhi Ozanian, was used with the kind permission of the Foundation in some of the newly emerged post-Cold War Armenian newspapers in Eastern Europe. You may be surprised to learn that the Suite also contained a spell-checker suitable for Armenian (and for that matter for any other language, as it used ASCII code for its database). We have no further information as to how the Suite was used in the following years.

This may appear to you as historical detail, but I am writing this as did not fail to notice the importance that you put onto the availability of spell-checking facility in Armenian (and to no lesser extent your advice on social aspects of communicating in Armenian).

I read your email with glee and I enjoyed it till the end, since I'm a history lover. There are lots of lessons to be learnt from history and many issues can be resolved by going back to history and finding out where others have failed and succeeded. And you have just provided me with this information, where the Gulbenkian Fund has already achieved the creation of a spell checker in Armenian for ASCII encoding.
It is amazing that this article (ՀԱՅԵՐԷՆ ՏԱՌԵՐՈՎ ՆԱՄԱԿ ԳՐԷ‏) has been greatly appreciated by many, specially that it encourages the use of Armenian in our ordinary life, in emails, in chat and everywhere else. It is also amazing that after publishing this article, I went through an email communication with two people, who are very much involved in compiling and creating an online comprehensive Armenian dictionary. Two of them reside in USA.
Unfortunately, they are both working alone (since they are not aware of each other's work) and they are looking for ways to fund their project. In case there is interest, would the Gulbenkian Foundation fund such an important project?
My vision that I shared with both is to have the dictionary inherent in Microsoft/Mac and in browsers like Internet Explorer and Firefox, where if you are filling a form in Armenian, the mistakes will be automatically underlined with a thin red line and when you click on the misspelled word, it will provide you with options with correct words. This is already inherent and found for the major languages and even Turkish is in there.

One note though, it is always important to look from Biblical perspective. The question of adultery and sin is a very complex issue. If you desire in your heart to have adultery, then it is sin. Jesus did not condemn the prostitute and asked the Jews "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone".
We all are sinners and we all need salvation.

But yeah I know Pastor Jack too I was invited last year by the invitation of the France Arm, Evan. union to do 6 concerts/ outreaches to sing and evangelize for kids age 4-11 so I went to leon too, there i met him and his wife they are a wonderful couple. Anyways God increase you vision for his glory and kingdom, again I'm very proud of you. I know you through your DVD and songs, the kids here love you! What a nice coincidence that two sister churches in different locations are having evangelistic rallies. We definitely should be praying for each other. I also know Setrag Khoshafian through his Armenian sermons, and I would love to receive his info and share it with the committee here for the future. We have also posted about Bashde.org, which is one of its kind.
