NEST opens its Resource Center

NEST (Near East School of Theology - Մերձաւոր Արեւելքի Աստուածաբանական Ճեմարան) opened its Resource Center for Christian educators, who work with kids in Sunday Schools, with youth, with women, and for those who teach religion in church affiliated schools.

The center will help the educators in finding resources, and will host workshops that will help teachers in their field development. In the center, teachers will also share experiences and work together to produce teaching materials needed for their work groups.

The Resource Center will aim to be a service for educators and Christian women, who serve in their churches.

This is an ancient and very beautiful Armenian sharagan. If someone can translate the meaning, by writing in the comment, I would really appreciate it.

Meanwhile, close your eyes and go deep into the meaning of the music of our ancient fathers in faith...

DVBS in Armenian Evangelical Emmanuel Church

With God's grace, the Daily Vacation Bible School took place from 7 July to 8 August, starting the day at 9 am and ending at 12:30 pm. Around 60 children participated.

The daily activities included singing, prayer, Bible story and verse. In class the kids implemented the craft that was related to the Bible lesson of the day. After the recess, the kids participated in special activities. Every Monday, the kindergarten went to a special playground for games, the elementary girls prepared dishes, and the boys played soccer. Tuesday was pool day. Wednesday was a day for competition. On Thursday, the kindergarten watched a movie/animation, the elementary visited the elderly. On Friday, the children went to Luna Park, Swimming Pool (Blue Beach, Splash Mountain), Park (Yuppie Park), Cinema (Narnia) and Burger King.
The main theme of the DVBS was "Colors and their new meaning". Green is for growing, red is for love, yellow is for happiness, and blue for peace. The theme was presented using crafts.

We thank the main leader, Ms. Nara Kouzikian, and the leaders, Marina Baboghlanian, Vana Movsesian, Hera Kouzikian, Armig Kazezian, Aline Tahazian, Koko Aynilian, Ara Torkomian, Jano Baghboudarian, and Sevag Sevajian. We thank Mrs. Ani Sevajian, Alice Avesian, Mr. Asbed Kendirjian. We also thank Ms. Vartoug Balekjian, Ms. Houry Barsoumian, Mr. Hovig Assilian and Serop Ohanian for preparing the plan. A special thanks to the contributors, C.E. Kordzatir Body and Mustard Seed Foundation.

On Sunday, 10 August, during the service, the kids presented their songs through singing and drama.

Chanitz dot com in Kchag

While you know that we were in a vacation during the months of July and August, but work never stopped any bit behind the monitor screens. And I actually received an email from Mr. Garbis Deyirmenjian (CE Executive member, and a Kchag lover), and suggested that I present about Chanitz.com to the public at large, who have not heard of the blog's great success, in being able to connect many different people from Lebanon and outside Lebanon.
I had the opportunity to talk about how Chanitz.com initially started in 2006 and expanded to be read and connected to youth, elders, and pastors in USA, Canada, Brazil, Greece, Iran, Iraq, Syria, Cyprus, Argentina, Egypt, France, Germany, Italy, England, Sweden, Russia, Armenia, Turkey, Bulgaria, Belgium, Netherlands, Ireland,...
One of the stories that was amazing and exciting at the same time was when I received an email from Mr. Garabet Orunoz from Turkey and he must be reading this by now. And he saw our post about Mr. Hrant Guzelian (may his memory be a blessing), and he wanted to send us many other pictures. It was funny that he didn't know any one of the people I knew who lived in Istanbul, Turkey. He didn't know Rev. AghabalOghlu, he didn't know Ms. Ozpenbe, or anyone else. In the end, I was able to get the pictures through the help of Ms. Ani Boujikanian.
